1969 Dead
This show is what really opened my eyes (ears?) to 1969 shows. This performance takes off at Cryptical and is simply amazing thereafter. After a well played Dark Star who could ever complain about a Lovelight closer that goes on forever...

Yawn. Yet another phenomenal Dead show.
Great show all around with excellent sound. Things really take off with The Other One and the next hour is pretty insane. Everything thru The Eleven just smokes. Jerry is on a whole 'nother level this show.

great run
There are a gold mine of highlights to be found with this June '69 Fillmore run. This show might be the most consistently well played of the 4. Excellent Friend of Mine, China Cat>Sittin', Eleven and Dark Star.
But TIFTOO is the major high for me, gphishmon is pretty dead on; a top-tier reading of that song to be sure.

Yeah it's here!
This is pretty much bread and butter Gratefful Dead. It's got all the qualities of classic 69. Just the songs off the new album alone are worth listening to but add in all the heavies in their prime and it's a hell of a show! Brought back feelings of first listening to the band.

RIP Bear
This is just as good as the Hollywood, Florida shows from a few weeks earlie ... just a bit less manic. And of course the sound isn't as sweet as the "official" release but it's got that same quality in the mix.
One of the best 'Friends of Mine' in the catalog, how did Jer pull it off???

good start to this run
this show opens up with a very nice morning dew into a rockin early me and my uncle. a nice run of some newer songs after that with friend, hard to handle, and cosmic charlie but nothing spectacular. a strong cryptical, too, cryptical (absolutely gorgeous) to end the first set. china cat is always a fun way to start off a set. that dark start left my mind somewhere up in outer space, hoping it floats back down to me. overall nothing extraordinary but a well played show.

Get This Show
This show is quite a find, I loved every second of it. This show deserves 5 stars hands down. Its tight the entire way through, 5 star playing and sound plus a great, fat setlist. It might help to add a little bass on the equalizer for this show. Highlights include a ferocious Me and My Uncle (This is how this song should be played!) I love 69 Uncles. The Doin that Rag is very tight indeed, jammed nicely, great vocals. I dont know if I can name a better doin that rag. The Cryptical>Other One>Cryptical is amazing, they never shoulda quit jammin out cryptical, this sandwich is just writhing with energy. The china cat is on point, not sloppy like many 69 china cats. The Dark Star is very strong. The vocals are so powerful, jerry just fuckin nails it. Its June 69 so they're in the process of evolving DS to the one syllable, tripped out space rides they would become later. The dark star theme is strong throughout the song, the mark of an early star, but at the same time it manages to stretch out very spacily. The jam after the 1st verse cooks to an intense melting point, with jerry then steering the boys to a happy little jam, which brewed to yet another pounding peak, then seamlessly back to the second verse, then straight into a tight stephen. THE ELEVEN COOKS! What a smoking show all around, get this shit, it tastes just like it smells...delicious!

69 was not for the faint of heart!
This is where we really need 10 stars. This show has some outrageous playing. TIFTOO is every bit as good as 2/28/69 or 5/2/70 in my opinion. China>SOTOTW, Dark Star, and The Eleven are outstanding as well. However, 69 is hard to rate, since the setlists are very similar, and the playing is generally excellent throughout. He Was a Friend of Mine is worth mentioning as it was only played about a dozen times. The sound is fine for 69 with the exception of one section with pitch problems (I think it comes at the end of the first set - not sure). I have to give 5 stars; how can I say it's not as good as 12/31/81, for example, but then how many other shows from this year get the same? Is this as good as 2/28/69? It's as good as the part I have from that show, but I don't have the Alligator jam. With 10 stars, this is probably a 9 (or even 9 1/2), and 2/28/69 is a 10 (and any 95 show is 3 or fewer).

Very Good
This is a solid show. Ratings and downloads do it no justice. Sound is good. Previous reviewers mentioned Hiss, pay no mind friends, it gets a 4 for sound. No real hilights because the whole show is pretty consistent. Good jams. DS-LL is definately a great one. Solid 4 stars.

Sound quality not up to show quality
One of the first hissy cassettes I ever owned. Boys in fine form. Great Doin That Rag, the rest is certainly well played, but sound is a bit flat. Performance 5, sound 3. I DL'd Rag, will wait until later to get the rest.
